New York City

New York City, you have been in my heart forever. In 2006 when I just arrived, I thought to myself… I’m going to conquer this place and live my life the way I want to. I loved your gliz, glam, instant access to things that no one else can get. I loved the lights, the urban jungle, the different opportunities that I could reach for… but you have infected me. I forgot what life is really all about.

I just came back from hawaii two weeks ago.. and instead of hearing noise, people, bs….. i was slowly lulled away by soft crashing waves, smiles, sunshine..and instant paradise.

This was the view from our hotel room. Amazing right? It was the best vacation of my life. Actually…it was the first real vacation I’ve ever had in my whole life. Ever since I came to NY, I never went on vacation. I was so consumed with working and getting ahead that I never stopped to think. I was too focused on things that really doesn’t matter. This place really brought me down to earth. People are so happy here, and it’s just such a different place than New York City. I seriously hate New York now… all the fking expensive materialistic luxuries that people buy to make themselves happy… it’s so disgusting. In fact, that’s me. I’m disgusting! In Hawaii, none of that stuff matters. No one is watching you and examining your fashion. I don’t know how people can live in urban jungles surrounded by people and not have a drop of sunshine/trees/ocean… it’s SO SUFFOCATING.

anyway. I’m a hypocrite. I have an apt here, and I can’t move out of NY. So… ever since I came back.. I tried everything to keep my relaxed zen state. It’s so stupid to be stressed out by such stupid things..it’s so not worth it. I’ve also changed my life goals now…. it’s to go to Hawaii every year until I can just live there forever when I’m old. For now…. I’ll just have to suck it up.
